Homeschool advocate urges limits on district oversight, warns of reporting conflict

Curry also raised concern about a proposed mandate to report five-year-olds and suggested that mandatory kindergarten reporting may conflict with the statutory compulsory age set by Sept. 1. The chair acknowledged public input and said the committee and its policy subcommittee would take comments into account; the chair added that committee bylaws limit direct public editing of policy documents and that the secretary would decide whether changes are warranted.
