Commissioner requests review of consultant invoice, expresses concern over comprehensive plan distribution

Commissioner McDaniel asked the board to add a discussion item or schedule a work-study to examine an invoice from consultant Kenley Horn and the status of the county comprehensive-plan rewrite.

McDaniel said he learned about the invoice shortly before the meeting and is concerned about whether the invoice complies with the terms of the contract. "I would like to ask the board if we could add this to a discussion item or maybe discuss this in-depth before this invoice is paid," he said, and asked that the board "reel this back in" until the commissioners can review the facts. He also said the planning commission has done substantial work on the comp plan and expressed concern that parts of the draft have been distributed to a citizen; he wants verification of distribution before taking payment action.

The chair said the issue can be scheduled for a work-study session so commissioners can gather facts before taking further action. McDaniel said he did not have all the facts yet but wanted the concern recorded and followed up.
