Representatives of the Alameda Transportation Management Association and San Francisco Bay Ferry endorsed staff plans to extend the Oakland‑Alameda Water Shuttle pilot and to support a city bike‑share pilot. Mike Garrity, director of planning for the Bay Ferry, said the shuttle’s small craft "Woodstock" (32 passengers) carried over 1,000 people in a single day in May and that a comprehensive two‑year evaluation of the pilot will be presented to the public this fall. Arsh Singh Kothi of the Alameda TMA said Phase 1 ridership was strong and that the TMA looks forward to continued partnership.
Councilmembers approved consent items that included negotiator designations and an extension agreement for water‑shuttle pilot operations as part of the consent calendar.
