Leon Council approves routine business, property resolutions and permits

The Leon City Council convened Oct. 7, 2024, and adopted a series of routine and property-related actions, most by unanimous 4-0 votes. Council approved the Sept. 3 and Sept. 16, 2024 minutes and authorized payment of the bills as presented.
The council adopted Resolution 26-2024 relating to properties at 525 and 527 W. Mechanic St., and separately adopted Resolution 25-2024 (425 W. Mechanic and 212 S. Mill) and Resolution 27-2024 (210 N. Main St.). Council also approved the renewal of the Prairie Houses cereal malt beverage license and a fence/gate permit for Gick Fleming with the condition that a gate (not a full fence) be placed over the waterway. Where recorded, motions passed by recorded voice vote of 4-0.
The meeting record includes other council directions: an updated notice of order for code violations with corrected and added addresses, authorization to remove old utility lines from poles and to move a pole closer to the chlorine station, and a council request to search for a city lawn mower. The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
