City Manager Bradley Eilts updated the Larned City Council on the Electrical Conversion project Feb. 2, relaying dates and milestones provided by Cris Neagle of Utility Help Net.
The timeline presented includes completion of preliminary and detail design tasks and project maps and staking sheets on Feb. 27, 2026; issuance of the material list on March 10, 2026; procurement reviews and bid evaluations through March and April; and a planned contract award on May 4, 2026. Eilts emphasized that a construction start date will depend on materials availability.
Councilmember Rusty McClendon said he will remain in contact with Cris Neagle to continue moving the project forward. Staff will proceed with the procurement and contracting steps outlined in the presented schedule.
