Chair opens Scott County Business Commission meeting; lack of quorum stalls formal votes
Summary
The Scott County Business Commission opened its July 20 meeting and reviewed minutes and financial reports, but a missing quorum prevented formal approval of several funding recommendations. The Scott County Business Commission convened July 20. The Chair called the meeting to order and moved to approve the minutes from the prior session; the motion was seconded and the attending members signaled assent. "The minutes are approved," the Chair said after the motion and second were recorded.
Commissioners reviewed several recommended funding actions discussed at an earlier meeting, including awards to youth sports and local festivals, but repeatedly noted they did not have a quorum to take formal action. The Chair and other members agreed to forward their recommendations and to seek the absent members’ votes at the next meeting. No formal motions with binding outcomes were completed during this session.
