Summer programs draw more participants; Saturday hours and sensory story time added

Library staff told trustees the summer reading program and associated events have seen higher attendance this year, showing growth in both circulation and program participation.
The Librarian said staff hosted a bingo program with more than 80 participants and noted a recent visit from comedian Hasan Minhaj during summer programming. The board heard that, beginning in August, the library will piloted a monthly Saturday sensory story time designed to welcome families with neurodivergent children. "Summer reading is always a busy time at the library...we had over 80 participants come to that," the Librarian said, noting foundation support for prizes and programming.
Trustees encouraged continued outreach and suggested coordinating programming promotion with city events such as Car Week, Home Crafters and the farmers market to raise awareness about the temporary relocation and new Saturday hours.
