Council approves up to $50,000 for rec center window replacement using grant funds
Summary

City staff reported they applied for a maintenance foundation grant to replace windows and stone seals on the south side of the Health & Recreation Center. The application requested about $112,000; the award returned was about $49,800. Staff recommended replacing upper south-side windows, stone seals and removing old gym fans.
"The project shall be funded by the...donation grant and paid out of a capital pertinent item number 050-10-6149," staff said when presenting the scope and funding. Council approved the project as presented, authorizing Glass Services Incorporated to perform the work at a cost not to exceed $50,000 and noting the check have been received for the grant award.
Council discussion focused on scope and sequencing of work before window replacement begins; staff said roof covering attached to the stone seals must be removed before work starts. The vote to approve the project passed by voice vote.
