The Board reviewed four Form 425 filings for damaged real property (mainly fire damage) and voted to approve the assessor's recommended adjustments. The assessor and staff described the purpose of Form 425: when an owner reports damage occurring between Jan. 1 and June 30, the assessor may revalue the parcel to reflect the damage.
One commissioner disclosed that a filer is a daughter and stated they have no financial holdings together; the commissioner said state statute allows them to rule despite the familial connection. The board then moved to approve the damaged-property actions; the motion passed on roll call with all present commissioners recording affirmative votes.
