Town staff says grant funding available to connect Sadler Trail to West Orange Trail
Summary
Town staff told the board there are grant funds (including Healthy West Orange support) to build a Sadler Avenue trail that would link Longleaf neighborhoods to Tubbs Street improvements and the West Orange Trail; staff said the plan includes provisions for golf-cart access alongside pedestrian routes.

A town staff member (S9) told the board the project team has secured grant funds to develop the Sadler Avenue trail, which would connect the Longleaf neighborhood to the new sidewalks and the West Orange Trail. "We actually have grant funds to develop Sadler Trail," the staff member said, and added that the grant support will help tie neighborhood loops and golf‑cart access into the broader trail network.
Staff said the Sadler Trail funding will help create a loop from Longleaf to the West Orange Trail and that some trail work was already envisioned to come from developer contributions or Healthy West Orange support. The presenters said improved trail connections should increase downtown bike and pedestrian traffic past Tubbs Street businesses, potentially supporting local commerce.
