Pool overhaul proposed with wave pool and staged construction to avoid losing season

On staging, Chip said the board could avoid losing a pool season by sequencing work: start the wave pool and water-slide work before the next season ends and schedule larger closures to occur after the school-year season starts, with a goal to open the new elements in May 2028. He described specific design choices: shrinking the diving well and adding a "ninja course," preserving lap lanes and open-play water, adding shade, cabanas for rental, and about 112 additional parking spaces for the pool site. Chip told the board, "we will not lose a pool season...We'll open this thing in, May '28." The pool plan accompanies Scott Park work and will be considered in the same bond package and public hearing timeline.
