Park board adopts Greenlawn Cemetery Shepherd's Hook policy

The Park Board adopted a new Shepherd's Hook policy for Greenlawn Cemetery at its July 16 meeting. Chip, a staff member, told the board the policy reflected earlier family requests to allow decorations on hooks so long as they do not extend above the pole: "Based upon our last meeting, it did take into account the request for being able to decorate the pole, but not to go above the height of the pole and things on top." After a short review the board voted 'Aye' and Chair announced, "We have a new policy for the Greenlawn Cemetery Shepherd's Hooks." The board did not discuss any amendments to the adopted language during the meeting.
The action was handled as new business and recorded as an approved motion on the July 16 consent of actions. The board invited members of the public who were present for the cemetery item to remain for the remainder of the meeting but did not take additional public comment on the policy during this session.
