"HOBY is a great opportunity for kids to go," said the staff member presenting the item, noting the conference usually takes place on a state university campus and brings thousands of students together for a multi-day leadership program. Administrator Scott (presenting) said the district planned to use an expedited selection this year because of registration timelines and hoped to send a male and a female sophomore.
Board members moved to accept the donation and approved the motion by voice vote. The administration said it would publish the application and submit registrants within the next week.
