Wright County approves five-year 28E agreement with Iowa DNR for private well program

Staff presented a five-year 28E agreement with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to administer private well programs in Wright County, including assessments, testing, reconstruction, coordination and well-closure assistance (well-closure grants can reach up to $700 under the program). A supervisor moved to approve the agreement and the board voted to authorize the county signature block on the DNR agreement.
Staff noted that some grant amounts for specific activities changed slightly this year but that the county expects to remain eligible for program funds and coordination; the board approved the agreement unanimously.
