The Yorktown Community Schools superintendent told the board the district plans a special public hearing on the proposed 2026–27 budget on Sept. 29, 2026, followed by adoption at the regular Oct. 20 board meeting.
"This would call for a special board meeting on 09/29/2026," the superintendent said, noting that advertisement deadlines must be met to comply with statute. He urged the board to get the date firmed up so the district can run legally required notices ahead of the hearing.
No vote was required to place the dates on the calendar; the superintendent said he would remind the board as the hearing approaches.
