Sen. Barry introduced SB 28-09 and said the short bill amends statute 45-9-133 to let officers with the Mississippi Agricultural and Livestock Theft Bureau keep government-issued sidearms at retirement or on disability. "2809 just amends 459133 to add, the law enforcement officers with the Mississippi Agricultural and Livestock Theft Bureau to retain their personal their side arms, government issued side arms upon their retirement or disability," Sen. Barry said.
There were no substantive questions from committee members and the sponsor moved the bill 'do pass.' The committee recorded the 'ayes' and advanced the measure for further legislative consideration.
