Atchison commission approves consent agenda including multiple licenses and 2026 meeting schedule
Summary

City manager Mark Westhoff presented a consent agenda that included approval of the Dec. 3 meeting minutes; cereal malt beverage licenses for Casey’s, Gambino’s Pizza, Max’s, BP Station, Raza LLC (ShopSmart) and Walmart (all expiring 12/31/2026); a merchant police/business license for Allied Universal Security (expiring 12/31/2026); a taxi and bus service license for Crittendon Home Care (expiring 11/17/2026); the 2025–26 trash hauler license for Miller Trash Service; and the 2026 commission meeting schedule.
A commissioner moved to approve “as read,” the motion was seconded, and the chair called for the ayes. The motion passed by voice vote and the chair announced the consent agenda was approved. Mark Westhoff said many of the items are routine renewals and that staff expects similar license renewals in the coming meetings.
The approval consolidates routine administrative items into a single action so the commission can focus on substantive agenda business later in the meeting.
