Council approves special-event permit for foundation fundraiser to assist injured local student

The Rangely Town Council approved a special-event permit on Feb. 11 for the Bleed Green Lancaster No. 17 Foundation to hold a corn-hole tournament and fundraiser on March 8 at the CNCC WeisZ Colorado room from 6 to 11 p.m. The foundation representative said proceeds will be directed to help local student Tristan Scott, who was injured in a recent accident and needs a prosthetic.
Foundation representative Ameren Hawkins explained the event and how proceeds will be allocated: "All of the funds that are raised that night will go to Tristan." Council members voiced support and moved to approve the special-event permit; the motion was made and seconded during the meeting and the presiding chair called the vote, which carried.
Council members thanked the foundation for organizing the fundraiser and encouraged community support; the permit was approved with the standard event conditions noted in the council record.
