The Linn Valley council authorized city staff to negotiate contracts with vendors for a PBX phone system and municipal accounting/utility-billing software.
Mindy, the city clerk, presented bids: a PBX phone system with five lines priced at $9,915 (one-time) and a Jayhawk municipal software package with setup and training quoted at $12,164. Mindy said the software would add utility billing, accounting and online-payment capabilities not available in their current QuickBooks/Clerkbooks setup. "This is Jayhawk Software... setup and training is 12,164," she said while describing expected functionality.
Council moved to allow the mayor and clerk to enter contract negotiations with Jayhawk (Advantage Computer) for the PBX and accounting system pending attorney approval; the motion passed unanimously in the meeting. The mayor asked the attorney to review any contract before signature and asked staff to provide comparisons with other vendors to justify cost and maintenance terms.
