Council approves vacation payouts and a $1/hour raise for Officer Jenkins

The mayor reported Corey had 131.68 hours owed, totaling $4,951.17, and Brett Jenkins had 41.5 hours totaling $984.38; the council voted to pay those amounts to comply with policy and to follow the employee handbook’s limits. "I would motion that we pay Tory is hundred and 31.68 hours, equaling $4,951.17," a council member said while moving the payout motion.
Corey also recommended a $1.00-an-hour raise for Officer Jenkins; the council moved and approved an increase from $23.72 to $24.72 effective Jan. 15. The mayor and council members noted Jenkins has taken on extra maintenance and security duties and that the pay raise was within budgeted authority for the department.
Staff will process the vacation payouts and the pay-rate change with the clerk and payroll to ensure correct effective dates and deductions.
