The superintendent (S12) walked trustees through the difference between certified (contracted) and classified employees and urged the board to approve standardized, board‑approved job descriptions for both groups. She said job descriptions should be compiled, reviewed with administrators and staff, and be approved by the board in July to avoid confusing changes mid‑year.
She also explained evaluation flow: the board evaluates the superintendent; the superintendent evaluates administrators and select supervisors; principals evaluate their building staff; bus supervisors evaluate drivers; and maintenance leads evaluate their crews. The superintendent recommended approving job descriptions and rolling them out in July so staff understand responsibilities and reporting lines.
Trustees asked practical questions about posting and renewing MOUs and where outside contracts are stored; the superintendent said some contracts are posted on a central service while others are kept in the office and that the district uses outside contractors for specialized roles when hiring full‑time staff would not be fiscally responsible.
