Delran moves to align solar photovoltaic inspection fees with New Jersey rates

At the Sept. 23 work session, Council discussed a construction fee amendment that raises Delran’s permit fees for photovoltaic systems to match fees set by New Jersey. Council member Lyon explained the adjustment relates to State charges computed by kilowatts and said Delran Township will perform inspections for solar installations.
Mr. Morrow asked who would perform inspections; Lyon confirmed Delran Township inspectors will conduct them. Solicitor Marmero gave a brief description of State fees based on kilowatt capacity and said the amendment brings Delran’s fee rate “up to where it should be.” The amendment was presented for discussion; no formal vote to adopt the amendment occurred during the work session.
