The Township solicitor presented a draft ordinance proposal to regulate the rental of private amenities—such as pools, gazebos and yards—at residential properties, and Council decided on Aug. 26 to treat that issue separately from short-term home rentals.
Mr. Marmero said short-term rentals (Airbnb-style) would be addressed in distinct draft language, and Council asked him to prepare sample ordinances for both topics. Chief Gasper recommended having regulations in place to help police address complaints related to rental activity. During discussion Mr. Morrow said he does not support short-term rentals in the Township: "I do not believe that short-term rentals are good for the Township." Council did not adopt an ordinance at the session and left both matters for future review.
