Delran outlines tentative 2026 road program; approves Vermes Field lighting contract for $424,950

Township engineer D’Armiento presented the tentative 2026 Road Program at the Aug. 26 work session, listing Suburban Boulevard, Haines Mill Road, Shelley Lane, Fullwood Road, Timothy Court and Wayland Road as proposed paving candidates.
D’Armiento said the Township tries to coordinate paving with utility work and that curbs and aprons are inspected for inclusion in projects to avoid future damage to newly paved streets. Greenwood Avenue will be reconstructed with Riverside administering the project and a utility company contributing some funds. Separately, the consent agenda included Resolution 2025-148 authorizing a contract award to Ronald Janney Electrical Contractor, Inc. for Vermes Soccer Field and sports lighting in the amount of $424,950.00; that item passed as part of the 5-0 consent vote. D’Armiento also said the Township is unofficially slated to receive $125,000 from Burlington County Municipal Park Grants for Summerhill Baseball Field improvements, pending formal award next month.
No final project schedule was set for the 2026 program; the engineer said bids for the 2025 road program produced no responsive bidders and will be readvertised. Council asked the engineer to review pedestrian crosswalk safety in front of ShopRite and to coordinate final paving plans with the County engineer.
