The Kiona-Benton City School District board approved updated salary schedules for exempt, classified and certificated director positions but postponed any action on the superintendent's own salary until after an executive session.
Superintendent Peterson told the board the numeric proposals had not changed, but the schedules were reorganized to separate classified and certificated staff. "The numbers haven't changed at all, but what we did is divide between our classified and certificated staff," he said. The board then moved to approve the schedules for other employees; the superintendent's salary will be considered after the executive session on personnel matters.
During the discussion there were no proposed dollar changes announced for the superintendent item at this meeting; the board explicitly moved the superintendent salary item to follow the closed-session discussion. The board voted in favor of adopting the salary schedules for the represented exempt and classified staff and certificated directors.
