Sam Baffoe, speaking for the Clemente Park Committee, requested a special events permit for a planned Bicentennial Social Weekend at Clemente Park (Green Picnic area) from July 31 to Aug. 2.
Baffoe described Friday evening programming (5—pm to 9—pm), Saturday activities and a movie screening (10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday) and a Sunday elders' walk and activities (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). "The event is free, so open to the community," he said. Commissioners approved the permit and wished organizers success.
