Lowell Humane Society receives permits for Muddy Paws 5K and block party; beer garden to be staffed by local brewery

Jonathan Northridge, representing the Lowell Humane Society, asked the commission to approve a one-day license to sell wine and malt beverages and an amplified entertainment permit for the Muddy Paws 5K and block party on Sept. 26, 2026 (rain date Sept. 27).
Northridge told the commission the event will begin with music at 10 a.m. and that Beowulf Brewery will manage the beer garden between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. "We are going to be having a little bit of music from a DJ and everything starting at 10," he said. The commission approved the requested permits by voice vote.
