Candidates urge planning, impact studies to manage Wilson County growth

Challengers called for shared planning and measurable impact studies. Christina Puza Smith proposed studying returns on development and tracing long-term impacts before approving projects; Gail Hellum favored collaborative leadership programs and building trust in the planning process. All candidates supported more systematic, evidence-based planning, with several recommending multi-decade planning horizons.
