Nutley approves $29,503 renewal for email security, firewall and MFA services

The Board of Commissioners on July 21 authorized a $29,503.50 contract with Ocean Computer Group to renew IT security subscriptions: Barracuda (email protection for up to 278 users) $26,050.94; SonicWall SMA support $2,001.65; and Duo Essentials (38 licenses) $1,287.44 for the 12-month period starting July 28, 2026.
Commissioners noted the software protects township systems from threats transmitted by email and assists with compliance. The clerk disclosed that the vendor completed the required business entity disclosure and that funds are available in the OIT operating account and certified by the chief financial officer. "We utilize the Barracuda spam filter to safeguard township systems against spyware, ransomware, malicious code transmitted via email," the clerk said when introducing the item.
The resolution was moved and approved by voice vote; the contract term listed is July 28, 2026, through July 27, 2027, and the board placed the business-disclosure certification on file.
