The Finance & Operations Committee voted to approve a pair of five-year agreements that pair the district with BSN Sports as a distributor and Under Armour as the brand for team uniforms.
An athletics staff member told the committee the contracts do not obligate the district to a minimum purchase but preserve a 40% discount on Under Armour uniforms and generate rewards points for future equipment. "By signing these agreements, we get 40% off any uniforms we purchase through Under Armour rather than paying retail," the presenter said. The presenter also noted many of the district's apparel and equipment orders already flow through BSN and that while BSN is a national company, local representatives work with the district.
Committee members asked about the source of funds for uniforms; the presenter said gate receipts from football and basketball admissions are the only source of revenue for team uniforms. Chair moved to approve the agreements; the motion was seconded by Mister Shelby and passed on a voice vote.
The contracts aim to promote consistent, equitable uniforms across teams while returning rewards that the district can use on equipment or additional apparel.
