Mike Hickman, with the Orem Fire Department and the Professional Firefighters of Orem, announced the department's first annual Fire Department Fun Run to raise funds for restoration of the department's original Engine 1 and to benefit local charities. The event, organized by the fire department and its union, aims to bring the community together to support restoration work and charitable programs.
"The purpose of our fireman's fun run is gonna be to raise money for both the restoration of the original Orem Fire Department Engine 1, as well as for some local charities," Hickman said, naming the department's Sub for Santa event and the University of Utah burn camp for burn survivors as beneficiaries. He closed his announcement by urging community members to attend and donate: "So please come out and support us."
