Commission approves siding, window and paint work at 927 Montgomery Street

Alexis Williams, planner I with the Economic and Community Development (ECD) department, told the commission the applicant seeks approval to replace the existing siding with new wood lap siding, replace one broken window with a white vinyl unit of the same size, and repaint the house in the existing "wheat toast" color. "Staff recommends the historic district commission approve certificate number HDCR20260112," Williams said.
The applicant, present at the virtual meeting, had no changes to the staff presentation and confirmed the home was painted about two years ago. The chair and a commissioner raised a concern about color matching over time; the applicant said he would repaint the entire west side so the new siding would match recent work. After brief discussion, a commissioner moved to approve HDCR20260112 and the motion carried on roll call.
