Governor Jeff Landry and local officials portrayed Meta's Richland Parish investment as transformational for the local school district and economy. "META, not our rate payers, fund all new generation transmission upgrades and infrastructure tied to this historic investment," Landry said, and the governor and the Richland Parish superintendent credited the project with enabling bonuses and increased wages for teachers.
Meta president Dina Powell said the company is investing in local workforce training and community colleges and that "41,000 Americans have already applied" to Meta's training program. Richland Parish superintendent Sheldon Jones described concrete classroom impacts, saying Meta's presence has provided STEM resources and technology upgrades and helped retain educators.
