Staff described a nearly $9,000 OnTrack purchase for 20 custom lamp-post brackets and decorative hanging baskets designed for downtown banners. The project will place brackets and baskets on lampposts before Memorial Day and include seasonal banner options and permanent seating and wayfinding features along Washington Street.
An OnTrack representative explained the order was placed because production lead times require advance payment; staff said the expense had been vetted and aligned with the town’s beautification grant strategy. Council members praised the visual improvement to downtown and asked staff to coordinate flower selection and installation dates.
The council also reviewed tree-board plantings and an upcoming Arbor Day ceremony, with the tree board requesting council adoption of a proclamation at the prior meeting.
