Supervisor Peter Goodman described the items proposed for surplus: a 2017 Ram 3500 (bed removed), two 2004 Mack trucks, a 2001 Mack with an old hopper body and four new plastic fender flares that did not fit after new bodies were installed. Highway Superintendent Morrow reported auction receipts of about $7,100 for one truck, roughly $6,400 for another chassis, about $10,000 for the Mason dump and roughly $300 for fenders, estimating total proceeds in the $28,000'$30,000 range.
"So we may actually have a problem trying to get sell this off to older equipment," Morrow said while recommending surplusing and accepting the auction results. The board approved the motion by voice vote.
The board discussed options for re-auctioning items if needed and confirmed proceeds would be used for future equipment purchases; no individual tallies were recorded on the transcript beyond a unanimous voice vote. The action was taken as a declaration of surplus followed by acceptance of the sale.
