Council approves transfer of Buster Crabbs license with lease‑assignment condition

Current owner Robert Fay testified he supports the sale and introduced the prospective buyer, Elmer Ramos. Ramos said the business will operate largely as before, add a breakfast service and remain open year‑round except for December.
"It's one of my dreams, me and my family, to have a business," Ramos said, describing plans to maintain the operation and to add morning service while keeping existing menu items. The town solicitor advised the transfer can be conditioned on the landlord’s assignment of the lease; the council adopted an amended approval requiring the town clerk to receive the landlord's required assignment before the transfer is finalized. The motion to approve the transfer with the assignment condition passed 5–0.
Council and staff noted the condition was standard practice when assignment paperwork from property owners is outstanding; the approval included prior restrictions and remained subject to state and local regulations. No appeals or objections were raised during the hearing.
