April, the PTO treasurer, said the school’s readathon raised more than $16,000 in a single fundraiser and that PTO funds are used for staff appreciation, field trips and free community events. "We raised over $16,000, just for 1 fundraiser," the PTO treasurer said. Presenters credited broad family engagement, a series of targeted interventions (daily phonics and K–3 supports) and partnerships — including therapy and health services — for supporting students beyond academics.
