The Village Board approved several planning items on the agenda, including multiple certified survey maps for SMM Investments LLC, an amendment to a conditional-use permit for the Wisconsin Boy Scouts' campground, and an ordinance rezoning a Paddocks LLC parcel (25700 Silver Lake Road) from B-2 to B-5 with a planned unit development overlay.
During discussion of the larger SMM Investments CSM, a trustee asked how the primary environmental corridor (PEC) affects development. A planning/commission staff member clarified: "That's a very good question because a house is allowed in a primary environmental corridor. You just can't bring public sewer to it." That explanation was repeated and used as the basis for moving forward with the certified survey map approvals. The plan commission had recommended approval of the listed items; the board approved the rezoning on a roll call that recorded an abstention by Trustee Barheite and recorded other trustees voting yes.
The board approved the Wisconsin Boy Scouts CUP amendment (plan commission 7-0) and multiple CSMs after motions and seconds; no substantive remands were recorded in the meeting minutes. The rezoning item listed owner Brian Filiatro as the applicant; the board carried the ordinance following the plan commission's unanimous recommendation.
