The Village of Salem Lakes board voted to award the 2026 lift-station rehabilitation contract to Fisher Excavating for $2,926,000 following a staff recommendation.
Planning and public-works staff told the board bids were opened on July 2, 2026, and that Fisher Excavating submitted the lone bid. "We did receive only 1 bid. That was Fisher Excavating in a dollar amount of $2,926,000, and my recommendation is for approval," a plan commission/engineering representative said during the meeting. Board members moved and seconded the recommendation and approved the award by voice vote.
Board members did not request additional bids on the record, and staff presented the award as the recommended next step to move the sewer infrastructure project forward. The item was introduced and discussed under the public-works and planning agenda items.
