Staff also reported merging the gifted, RTI and SAT committees into a single, state‑aligned MTSS (multi‑tiered system of supports) structure to streamline student supports and referrals. “We rolled out the new referral forms today with staff as we started to look at our testing data,” the presenter said, noting the single form will centralize requests for academic, social‑emotional or enrichment support.
The presenter said the district is also digging into the science of reading to ensure consistent early‑reading instruction and is planning for the retirement of a long‑time reading teacher. Staff tied recent professional development days to the district’s school work plan and said they have completed the fall universal screenings to inform near‑term goal‑setting for students and staff.
