Council to place modest fee-schedule changes on consent agenda

Paul, a city staff member, presented the proposed fee-schedule updates, describing small, routine adjustments and one item staff will double-check with another department before finalization.
"The timing department is probably the 1 that had the most increase in the fees this year. It was like a 4% increase, I think... So instead of $24.63, it went to 25," Paul said. Staff told council they intend to bring the fee schedule forward on the consent agenda next week with an effective date near the start of the budget year; utilities were scheduled earlier because they are billed in arrears.
Council signaled general support for aligning fee updates to the budget cycle and asked staff to flag any significant items that should merit separate discussion before placement on consent.
