Officials present proposed FY26 budget of about $43.9 million

Finance Director Matt Brown explained the committee's role in reviewing a balanced budget and outlined fund buckets: general fund, special revenue funds (including local option levies for police and library), enterprise funds, SDCs and reserves. He said general fund revenues are projected to increase about 1.5% and departmental expenditures by about 4%, with roughly $670,000 identified for potential capital projects such as East Wing renovations, City Hall Park and Weddell Bridge improvements.
