Board to sign state response; auditors able to work off district’s digital records
Summary
The board agreed to sign the annual response to the state using last year’s template; staff said the district's digital records (bills scanned by Rihanna) enabled a largely remote audit, easing the process.

The chair asked whether the board would use an updated version of last year’s response letter to the state documenting audit discrepancies; Corey said the same letter could be updated for this year’s dates and responses. The board asked staff to circulate any documents requiring signatures so the auditor could finish administrative steps.
Staff told trustees the district had gone fully digital and that bills were scanned into the financial system, which allowed auditors to sample documents remotely rather than pulling paper files. Trustees thanked the business office for the work that made the remote audit possible and then recessed to continue the evening’s agenda in person at the cafeteria.
