Mr. Renick, the district finance lead, presented the TRIM/rollback calculations used to produce the proposed tentative millage. He told the board the proposed rate is 6.3270 compared with a rollback rate of 6.1323, which translates to a 3.17% change, and said the projected tax levy is $189,129,125. “The revenue that we would be generating is a 181,563 thousand dollar $181,563,962,” he said.
Mr. Renick also summarized the district’s high-level budget totals: a general fund of $346,000,000 and a total budget of $610,000,000. He said the jump is primarily in the required local effort and that for an average homestead valued at about $205,000 the change would be roughly $45 per year. Board members asked for corrections to some slide figures and for clearer spreadsheet lines before publication.
