Eagle Scout staircase renovation at Shaw's Bridge Park recommended to supervisors

Ethan Conway presented a proposal to renovate the exterior wooden staircase at Shaw's Bridge Park to bring it into compliance with current code and restore the structure. He reviewed preliminary plans and said he will work with a structural engineer to prepare final plans for Township permit submission; construction is anticipated in September or October if approvals are obtained.
The Parks and Recreation Board voted unanimously to recommend the project to the Board of Supervisors for consideration at its Aug. 6 meeting (motion by John Spangler; second by Harry Hatzipavlides). The Board discussion noted minor landscaping enhancements and the addition of a short gravel path to connect the two sections of stairs. Mr. Conway told the Board he aims to have "all necessary approvals and permits by the end of August," and that he will secure required certifications from a structural engineer before applying for a Township permit. The recommendation is advisory; final approval rests with the Board of Supervisors.
