During the administrator’s report, the administrator (speaker 2) told council the county engineering office requested estimated snow-salt tonnage for the 2026–2027 season and that ODOT requires that information by an auditor timeline. "I will be asking counsel for emergent, emergency, approval at the next...meeting," the administrator said, noting the timeline for ODOT and county engineering. He also said public works staff and a contractor will meet to schedule repaving of Maple, Broadway, Worcester and Newark streets and that interviews to fill an operator position vacated by the March 31 retirement of Richard Horns are being scheduled.
The administrator reported attending a MORPC water reuse forum with the mayor and local water-reclamation staff and said reuse is an issue the village may need to consider in the future; he said he was not committing to immediate implementation but suggested the council keep the topic under review. No emergency appropriation was taken at the April 6 meeting; staff will return with specific legislation or requests if an emergency appropriation is required to meet ODOT's timetable.
