Calkins also said the office reported strong investigative clearance rates for person crimes and property crimes and noted specialized units for overdose investigations and fraud recovery; he reported seizure totals including fentanyl and seven‑figure fraud recoveries.
Council members thanked the sheriff's office for a swift response to a recent armed burglary on mayoral property and asked brief follow‑up questions. The mayor complimented deputies for their work on that case, noting the timely arrest of a juvenile suspect.
