Board members discussed establishing a building committee to advise district staff on building-related work and projects. Several members volunteered to serve; the chair said she did not want more than four on the advisory group, and other members noted that if the group is a formal committee it will require posted public minutes.
One member asked, "We're calling it a committee?" and members discussed whether advisory participants would be covered by public-meeting requirements. The chair and other members indicated they were willing to serve alongside staff (Brian and Lee) and that a smaller advisory group would avoid the additional procedural obligations of a formal committee. After the discussion the clerk moved to adjourn, a second was recorded and the meeting was closed.
The board also announced two executive sessions previously scheduled (June 23 at 06:00 for contracts and July 14 at 06:00 for personnel).
