Emmaus Community Foundation presents grants and says 4 Mile Classic raised over $30,000

John Hart, president and chairman of the Emmaus Community Foundation, presented two grant checks to the borough: a $1,000 award from Emmaus Main Street (Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber Foundation) for a Main Street park bench, and $3,867 from Wingstop restaurant charities to resurface a bridge in Community Park.
Hart described the Foundation's fundraising pathways and told council the Foundation managed the 4 Mile Classic this year after the previous organizer stepped down. "We had 255 participants," Hart said, "and we also raised over $30,000." He said the board hopes to pool that and future funds for one or two larger projects and thanked borough staff and volunteers for logistical support.
Hart and Foundation board members answered a few questions about future events and race logistics; council thanked the Foundation and accepted the grants into the record.
