Board approves IT position reclassification to system administrator

District IT leadership asked trustees to approve reclassifying a vacant programmer role to a system administrator to better reflect evolving responsibilities such as cybersecurity oversight and vendor coordination. "We have a programmer position that has been in place for as long as I've been here... So the programmer... we no longer use that kind of system anymore... we're requesting to retitle it to a system administrator," IT staff said during the presentation.
Trustees asked about pay-grade changes and staffing impact; IT staff said the position is vacant and would move from pay grade 4 to pay grade 6 on a 240‑day contract if approved. The board approved the reclassification by unanimous voice vote.
